Called the Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Tursimo (VGT), and designed by Chevrolet Research in partnership with Chaparral Racing, this revolutionary hypercar is powered by a mid-mounted laser beamed-energy propulsion system. That’s right, it pulses beams of light that focus in a shroud, creating shockwaves that generate tremendous thrust, producing 900 horsepower. The Chapparal has a top speed of 240mph and can do 0-60 in 1.5-seconds. Unlike conventional cars, you don’t sit, but rather lie face down with your arms and legs pointed towards the wheels.
