Lockheed Martin, Boeing and the USAF have acheived another milestone as the U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptor air dominance fighter destroyed a small ground target in the F-22′s fastest and highest JDAM delivery yet. Flying at 1.5 times speed of sound (1.5 mach – 1142 miles per hours) and at an altitude of 50,000 feet, the raptor released a 1000 pound JDAM that destroyed a target 27.5 miles away. This increases the survival rate for the pilots and decreases detection risks. To understand what JDAM is watch the second video.

7-7-2006 in 14:56:07Thats funny because I am in the Air Force and I work in Munitions Systems and there is not a 1000 pound JDAM.There is a JDAM known as a GBU-38 Version 1 (2000 lbs)made with a MK 84 bomb and GBU-38 Version 2 (500 lbs)made witha MK 82 bomb.
