With the development of “Dual Core” and “Quad Core” processors over the past 2 years, why would “DouTrigintal (Latin prefix of 32) Core” processors be that farfetched? In the next fours years Intel plans to develop its multi-core processor project known as “Keifer” into an unheard of 32 processors.
The processors would be arranged into eight nodes of four, all running in parallel with 24 MB of cache to share. Intel predicts that Keifer’s 32-core system will eventually be able to supply 15 times the processing power than the highest-end Dual Core systems of today, while still operating the processors at one-third the current GHz speeds of today. High end gaming anyone? Source
