these are printed image on a tarpaulin….they usually cover up a building when its being restored…only this time an artist try tried to make it a little more interesting!

We just saw this building at the weekend, and from a distance you’d swear it was real. Actually, it’s heavy canvas, cladding a perfectly normal building which is undergoing renovation. This is normal practice in France, to cover the facade & the scaffolding with a giant canvas. I’ve seen other canvasses which have been painted on, but never one done with such fantasy. I understand that it’s a distorted photo of what’s actually underneath. Anyway, worth a visit if you’re coming over here.
There are some other buildings in Paris with quite spectacular trick paintings on the wall – they’re called “trompe l’oeil” (deceive the eyes)
