# Harley-Davidson Electric Motorcycle is Company’s First

We present to you LiveWire – the fist electric Harley-Davidson prototype.

 
The motorcycle’s style is compared to that of former Harley sports bike subsidiary, Buell Motorcycles. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the electric Harley-Davidson has the potential to become a status symbol like the Tesla Model S.
Indeed, the bike featured in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Road & Track posted spy shots from the set.
 


 
The motor’s placement, longitudinally – under the frame, is not a usual tactic for an electric motorcycle. A bevel gear is used to change the direction of rotation 90°. It also gives the drivetrain a unique whirring sound, compared to the sound of a jet turbine.
 
Some more specs: a cast aluminum frame and swingarm, LED headlight, longitudinal three-phase AC motor/bevel gear/belt drive that generates 74hp / 52 lb-ft of torque, 7 kWh battery, and a direct drive powertrain good for a 0-60 mph of under 4 seconds.
