# Scientists Create World’s Lightest Material

Scientists have created the world’s lightest material, even lighter than AeroGel previously shown on here.  The material is woven of tiny tubes that are 1.000 times thinner than a human hair. The U.S. Department of Defense is obviously interested in this material for top-secret projects like next-generation aircraft. The material could also be used by the auto industry to lower the weight and drag thus making the vehicles more efficient.
