# Terrafugia TF-X Flying Car is a Four-Seat Hybrid with Folding Wings, Here’s a First Look

The future is officially here with the TF-X – a street-legal, four-seat fixed wing aircraft!

 
The vehicle has an electrically powered engine similar to a hybrid car. But in addition to the wheels, it has a foldable wings. A built-in GPS will help drivers navigate both land and air. It will also assist them with auto-landing when in inclement weather.
The company so far has 100+ pre-orders for the craft, which is estimated to cost $279,000, without any options. This updated model features an improved hybrid engine system, making it faster, heavier and roomier, with rotor blades on each wing tip that assist take off / landing, while folding away during flight.
