A French company has unveiled a bikini with a special sensor that they say warns users if they’ve spent too much time in the sun.The Connected Bikini requires wearers to input information about their skin type. The sensor will then monitor the user’s interaction with the sun and send an alert to their phone when it thinks they have been out for too long and need to reapply sunscreen. The bikini costs around $167 and can be custom made. The waterproof sensor is removable and wearers will be able to download an app to enter pertinent background information regarding their skin. A ‘Valentine’s Day’ version sends a message to partners who can apply the sunscreen on the wearer’s behalf and a beach towel offering the same function is also available.
