Hybrid Assistive Limb (HAL), but also known as Bionic Trousers, augment your natural movements to help you carry heavy loads. Developed in Tokyo, Japan, and are said to let a person carry between 100 and 180 kg more than normal. Their first big test will be in August this year when a Japanese mountaineer aims to use it to climb Breithorn mountain in Switzerland. To demonstrate his increased strength Ken Noguchi will ascend mount Breithorn carrying another person on his back. I can imagine a whole new sport with these, after all car racing is an evolution of sprinting – Trousers can be another sport evolution of strength ?
