Ok, I am not too certain how this works but it looks really cool. From what I understand the water has to be distilled with no impurities and the container should be very smooth. Once it is cold enough all it needs is a kind of “seed” to crystallize around. That is all I understand, someone please educate me. VIDEO->
THAT’S AWESOME!
Apparently this can be done with Fiji or other similarly purified waters. Very cool, reminds me of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fi633CtOHJM
this works with coke also
We did this in our chemistry lab last year. I can’t remember exactly, but I think you get put the bottle of purified water in a tub of ice water and keep added a bunch of salt to it, lowering the freezing point of the water. You have to add the salt in increments otherwise the water in the bottle will freeze. Eventually it will get cold enough that when you pull out the water and shake it it will freeze like in the video. Good Luck…

Apparently
You Drop A Chemical Into It
It Crystalizes And Has A Freezing Effect
Im Nout Sure If Its True
“supercooled liquid” it’s called. cooling a liquid below it’s freezing point without it actually becoming solid. For the phase transition liquid-solid nucleation sites are needed. These are usually tiny specs of dust where ice cristals will form. That’s the reason why you need fairly clean water and a clean bottle.
COOL!!
