I don’t remember having this much palpitations while watching a video, this is a really scary job. Even more scary than the man who is on a hellicopter. VIDEO

I am a level 3 SPRAT rope access technician and have used ropes to access some remote/difficult places for work similar to the video.
I’m familiar with OSHA standards concerning access in such environments seen in this video. And I can promise that OSHA does not allow ‘free solo’ on such structures. Had these bold technicians been caught, their license would have been revoked and a heafty fine to boot.
Needless to say, this video made my hands sweat.
Yes, it made my hands and forehead sweat! Really scary…
But from what you are saying it makes sense now why the other technician who wasn’t wearing the camera had his face blurred on a few shots. He fears being fined or fired…
Still…at the very top, I was trying to figure out where they could attach the harness…and there isn’t really any spots. At the very top it really seems that all you can count on is your hands…
Don’t you think ?
wow – made my hands sweat too….
the way how they did that… now security… one mistake… and they learn to fly..
