so if you eat a fish that had 2ml of mercury in its body, you will end up with 2ml of mercury in yours that will remain there for the rest of your life…

Though mercury is a neurotoxin, the higher risk comes from mercury vapors rather than the liquid being absorbed through the skin. Mercury does not remain in your system forever, either. Mercury is excreted in many ways, including the feces, urine, and hair.
