The TALOS suit (Tactical Assault Light Operator Suit) developed by the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) is the closest one can get to Iron Man in real life.
The TALOS is a lightweight smart suit using kevlar and nanotechnology. It functions as a ‘practical exoskeleton’ to protect soldiers from shrapnels and bullets. But that is not all – it also gives soldiers superhuman strength and protects them from intensive combat situations.
The suit is equipped with electronics monitoring the soldier’s heart rate, hydration levels, and core temperature. Via an onboard computer hooked up to sensors it responds to that data, making sure the wearer is in a good condition.
The most amazing feature of TALOS, however, is the fact that, under the influence of a magnetic field or electric current, it can from a liquid form to solid in milliseconds.
