Scientists have developed new materials that are composed of special polymers designed to completely melt away when a trigger is activated. Applications include medical devices that could melt away without harm inside the body, or a covert military device that delivers its data then dissolves without a trace.
If someone did a remake of that old TV show “Mission: Impossible” they would have a melting iPod in the place of the self destructing little reel-to-reel tape players.
