Is Li-Fi, a method of transmitting data wirelessly using LED, the answer to the world’s problem of congested bandwidth?
What if every light bulb in the world could also transmit data? Harald Haas demonstrates, for the first time, a device that could do exactly that. By flickering the light from a single LED, a change too quick for the human eye to detect, he can transmit far more data than a cellular tower — and do it in a way that’s more efficient, secure and widespread.
This is great! Not only creating a new means of communication, but also combating the heavily inefficient incandescent light bulbs that waste 95% of the energy as heat. This is awesome! Glad to be in this time and age to witness the progression of such technology 🙂
I’m glad to witness this too but I have a feeling we won’t live long enough to see it implemented into our daily lives…
