Rise Robotics’ KickStick isn’t some motor you attach to a skateboard, but rather a 3-horsepower, direct drive, in-hub brushless motor attached to the end of a staff. This self-propulsion system is used similar to an oar, with a motorized wheel on the end and a pressure-based throttle capable of pushing your skateboard up to 30mph. Simply activate the stick at the push of a button, touch the wheel to the ground, pull the lever, and you’ll be ready to roll. Best of all, it’s completely battery-powered, making for easy transportation.
