1989 Ayrton Senna Ghost Lap Reproduced from Actual Data

Ayrton Senna, a legend in F1 died in 1994 from a fatal crash. At the time I was about 10 years old and had no interest in F1 racing but on that day I turned the TV, followed the car for a few seconds and saw something I will never forget. Ayrton Senna’s horrifying crash and death which gave me shivers. His legend lives on and today thanks to Honda and he has managed to give me shivers again. Honda has created this incredible video tribute to Ayrton Senna. They took the actual data from Senna’s 1989 McLaren-Honda to create an audio/visual lap of Suzuka. Those black boxes you see on the track are speakers reproducing the sound of his car and the lights obviously represent his ghost. Simply Wow.
