….and there you have it!
even american cars are too fat!…. 😉
AHAHAHA.. those cars deserve the shame… on the other hand i would have to disagree with the SUVs they chose… they shouldve ATLEAST had one jeep.. and i’m pretty sure a jeep would run up the hill faster then the rover
you have got to be kidding me…
1) Land Rover is owned by a certain company, i can’t think of the name..oh wait FORD! Another win for Europe? Hardly… (that Jaguar engine also comes from the same mother ship)
2) Not that I thought the Escalade would have won, but how the driver went from a flat trail to going up the side of a hill, no one would of tried that and I am damn sure that the LR wouldn’t of made that either.
3) I am glad to see that the LR was able to make it atleast one trip without breaking down, as it is one of the worst brands around for reliability, as are the majority of European brands.
I’m not the stereotypical xenophobic american, I drive a Toyota, but this is one of the most slanted pieces of “reporting” I have ever seen, and I live in the US for god’s sake.
A Jeep Grand Cherokee would have been the correct choice. A Hummer is a poseur car. Clarkson always compares American cars to the European “counterparts” which cost twice as mucn. On top of that, Clarkson is full of shit. He also has a clip from that video where he drives an automatic V6 mustang convertible and calls it a V-8 GT. Top Gear are the only people out there that think English cars are good.
Id have to agree, They chose the very worst off road SUVs The U.S has to offer. Might as well have used a minivan. You give me an origional Hummer and a 1983-1994 Jeep Wrangler VS the 1978 Land rover (probably the most harty Land rover). That I would like to see.
