President Vladimir Putin dived 60 meters down into the Gulf of Finland, Leningrad region, Russia. He explored the Russian battleship ‘Oleg,’ which sank in 1896. He used the ‘Sea Explorer 5’ underwater research vessel. At 17 feet long, 12 feet wide, and 7 feet tall, the C-Explorer 5 (CE5) is the largest submersible built by famed Dutch mini-sub manufacturer U-Boat Worx. The CE5 can whisk a group of four passengers as well as a pilot as far as 1,000 feet below the waves and poke around the ocean’s depths in air conditioned comfort.
