I’m fully aware that this one seems to be as exciting as Harry Potter’s magic stick. However there is reasonable evidence to believe that a powder that is capable of regrowing human body parts as if we were reptiles, is now in test trials. It seems that it comes straight out of X-Men comics and sci-fi movies but once again science shows us that nothing is impossible. I suppose that if our abilities to regenerate our body parts was lost somewhere in evolution, considering that other animals are still doing it, we can perhaps somehow reactivate those abilities with a little help of science and technology. Three years ago, Lee Spievack sliced off the tip of his finger in the propeller of a hobby shop airplane.
What happened next, Andrews reports, propelled him into the future of medicine. Spievack’s brother, Alan, a medical research scientist, sent him a special powder and told him to sprinkle it on the wound.
“I powdered it on until it was covered,” Spievack recalled.
To his astonishment, every bit of his fingertip grew back.
This is from the CBS series “growing miracles”.
Don’t forget to check out the Cancer leading research post I made a few months back.
