Pouring Saltwater Over Graphene Generates Electricity

A team of scientists from China have discovered that passing saltwater over graphene can create small amounts of electricity. The announcement, published in the journal Nature Nanotechnology, could revolutionise tidal and hydroelectric power — creating a far cheaper, less intrusive, more reliable alternative to dams and tidal power plants. The only problem? We can’t make enough graphene yet.
