If you have a large roof in a popular city, you might be sitting under a goldmine. A company called RoofShout hopes to exploit the online emergance of stellite mapping services like Google Earth and Microsoft Live Local all in the goal of making money from roof mounted advertisments.
Colin Fitz-Gerald who runs a roofing business in Massachusetts, came up with the idea and has started auctioning roof space on eBay.
“I’m currently launching RoofShout.com with no money, no real experience running a business on the internet, and no real solid business plan,” Fitz-Gerald said. “But I figure there’s a lot of blank roofs and a lot of advertising that could go on the roofs.”
