The Terrafugia’s TF-X flying car was just approved for testing by the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration).
The vehicle drives like a normal hybrid. Its wings are neatly folded in a compartment located above the rocker panels for easy parking. With a push of a button, however, they deploy in seconds while two electric motors linked to a pair of propellers join forces to generate a megawatt of power, enabling the car to take off vertically.
Complementing the electric motors, there is also a 300HP gasoline engine. Its propellers fold out of the way past a certain speed, and the thrust is generated by a large rear-mounted fan.

Looks a bit to good to be true.
Small wings need lots and lots of power. Heavy batteries also need lots of power, soooo we will see.
That’s true, a little too good to be true. 🙂
