What Life Is Like As An Astronaut

astronaut, life, what it’s like

In this candid Ted Talk, former astronaut Jerry Carr talks about what rigors a person must endure before he or she can become an astronaut. Don’t be fooled by the nonchalant voice narrating the video, astronauts go through a lot and it’s no stroll in the park to become one of them. If you’re wondering what Mr. Carr’s record is, he has spent more than 2,000 hours in space and has orbited Earth more than a thousand times. I was supposed to say “How lucky is he to have seen our planet from space?” but now I realize he, and others like him, have worked so hard for that opportunity. Watch the video below to see his life’s biggest ups and downs as an astronaut.
