For those who say water will never power the world… It’s about materials and what “power” requirements we should have in the first place…

This is pretty amazing :)

this has been showcased quite a few times, there is already a commerial water powered battery on the market, but thanks for the video ;)

Anyone got anything else on this video? I would love to know what the students posed as an explanation. Is it static electrisity?

It’s static electricity build-up. But don’t get your hopes up on free power. High voltage but negligible amps (power = volts)x(amps). It’s extremely inefficient. You would be far better off harnessing the energy with a waterwheel - the source of the energy is simply falling water.

Hahaha Mike Minor (and Mini) you are such a dunz. Go back to school.

“so if we make this at home, we can get free power????” erm, in a word, NO!!! It takes you thousands of times more energy to life the water back to the starting point than than the puny milli-amps of electricity you get.

Johnny, I don’t remember typing “so if we make this at home, we can get free power????” or anything of the sort…

I was making a point that as materials and power requirements get lower and lower, water will become a resource.

How you got something out of it to pump your own ego, I do not know, lol. Putting words in people’s mouths won’t make you seem any smarter in a place where it’s only comments, not discussion.

H2O power has only been around for millennia. The only difference in the last century is that any naturally moving source can move an electrical generator such as a waterfall with a wheel, or a wind source, or a generator attached to Al Gore’s lips.

Of the three, Al Gore’s lips would obviously produce the most power ^_^’ Haha!
